Forest View Manor  Retirement Center

Forest View Manor began as a ministry vision of Ann Nixon Christie in the early 1980’s. She worked with several agencies developing the first senior citizen councils in the state, and  also administrated facilities for other companies. Her experiences led her to enlist the aid of her son, Mark Nixon, and create a new type of assisted care facility with the feel of home. The purpose from the outset was to provide a home and necessary care services to enhance the quality of life for our senior citizens. On October 1, 1988, the doors were opened. Since conception, our home has provided care and support to over 250 families from all parts of the country.

Our Staff

We are especially blessed by the compassionate nature and the commitment to superior care demonstrated daily by our staff. Caregivers are chosen based on their ability to build relationships with our residents, providing not only for their physical needs but their emotional and spiritual needs as well. Forest View Manor provides ongoing training and education opportunities to continually improve the quality of services and environment. Most of our staff members have been providing care here for more than ten years. Our staff is definitely one of our greatest assets.

Our Community

Located in rural Edgefield County, the facility benefits daily from the hospitality of the surrounding community. Many area churches and local civic groups, as well as many individuals, provide regular services, programs, and entertainment for our residents. Their efforts help to keep our residents ‘plugged in’ and involved in their community. Our residents look forward with great anticipation to having groups come into our facility and present music, religious services, or sometimes just come and spend some time with us. We enjoy sharing in the experiences of our community, and we feel very fortunate to be a part of it.

Our Family

Forest View Manor is privately owned and operated by the Nixon family; Mark and Connie Nixon, and their children Leslie, Cameron, and Kasey. The Nixon family resides in Aiken, SC. Mark, owner/administrator, and his daughter Leslie, administrative assistant, are in the office daily and help to provide full hands on care for everyone in the home. If you are ever visiting in the summer, you can usually find Cameron in the yard or Kasey in the halls with a paint brush. Connie is around all of our special events keeping us organized. All of the Nixon family takes pride in the home that Anne Nixon Christie and Mark Nixon established over 20 years ago and hope to continue her legacy for decades to come.
